Project description:

Our client is one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Europe, used by millions of users every day. The company connects sellers - from small businesses to global brands - with customers, offering a vast product selection, fast delivery, and a well-crafted shopping experience.

Designing a vertical-specific user experience for the automotive category as part of company’s key strategic initiative, aimed at transforming the platform from a general-purpose marketplace into a collection of specialized “stores within a store.”

The role:

• The role is primarily backend-focused (approx. 60% of the workload), while also involving active frontend development using components (approx. 40%).

• Develop and enhance the automotive vertical experience as part of a key strategic initiative focused on creating specialized marketplace experiences.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.

• Develop frontend features using React and TypeScript, working with existing components and Microfrontend architecture.

• Design and maintain distributed, microservices-based solutions, with a strong focus on code quality, testing, performance, and reliability.

• Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB.

• Build and maintain technical and business monitoring for developed products and features.

• Use AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, and other agentic coding solutions, as part of your daily development workflow.

• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver new features and continuously improve the platform.

• Ability to effectively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, or other agentic coding tools) as part of the day-to-day software development workflow.

  Backend

  • Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin, with experience in building scalable backend applications.

  • Strong knowledge of Spring Boot for developing modern applications and REST APIs.

  • Strong focus on code quality, testing, and application performance, as well as the ability to build both technical and business monitoring for developed products.

  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed microservices-based architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, or other agentic coding tools.

  Frontend

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.

  • Good knowledge of React and its ecosystem for building user interfaces.

  • Solid understanding of semantic HTML5 and the ability to create responsive layouts using CSS.

  • Practical knowledge of building accessible web applications in line with WCAG standards.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, with a particular focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Basic knowledge of both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, with a particular focus on MongoDB.

• Practical knowledge of SQL.

• Experience working with Microfrontend architecture.
