We are looking for an experienced Data Modeller/Engineer.
Please note: this is a hybrid position, you will be expected to come into the office 8 days per month overall (the office is located in Kraków).
Job requirements
š Your Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries in BigQuery, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, performance, and data integrity.
Build, maintain, and enhance ELT/ETL pipelines, including data transformation design, testing, and production deployment.
Develop and maintain data models (with a strong emphasis on Data Vault) and apply them in analytical solutions.
Design and implement data architectures using Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault methodologies, as well as schemas such as Star, Snowflake, and Medallion.
Design, implement, and maintain data ingestion pipelines from various sources (REST/SOAP APIs, SFTP, CSV/JSON/XML files) using tools such as GCP Data Fusion, CDAP, or similar.
Ensure high data quality through testing, validation, and monitoring of data processing workflows.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for cloud-based data solutions.
Manage source code and collaborate effectively using version control systems (Git).
Work within a DataOps framework, focusing on automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data pipelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban) using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Analyze technical issues and propose effective solutions in the area of data processing and modeling.
Support team development through knowledge sharing, best practices, and active participation in team growth.
Continuously develop technical and soft skills, adapting quickly to changing project and technology needs.
š Key Requirements:
Proven (3+ years) hands on experience in SQL querying and optimization of complex queries/transformation in BigQuery (must have), with a focus on cost, time-effective SQL coding and concurrency/data integrity
Proven (3+ years) hands on experience in SQL Data Transformation ELT / ETL pipelines development, testing and implementation, (ideally in GCP Datafusion otherwise other popular product like Apache Airflow is essential)
Proven Experience in Data Modeling (Data Vault modelling is a big advantage here) and usage.
Experience with Data Architectures (Kimbal / Inmon / Data Vault) and Schemas (Star, Snowflake, Medalion, Data Vault)
Experience designing, testing, and implementing data ingestion pipelines on GCP Data Fusion, CDAP or similar tools, including ingestion and parsing and wrangling of CSV, JSON, XML etc formatted data from RESTful & SOAP APIs, SFTP servers, etc.
Proficiency in working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and continuous testing tools, ideally for Cloud based Data solutions|
Proficiency in Git usage for version control and collaboration.
Experience in working in DataOps model
Experience in working in Agile environment and toolset - preferred JIRA/Confluence.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Enthusiastic willingness to learn and develop technical and soft skills as needs require rapidly and independently.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Good team player who embraces teamwork and mutual support.
Proficient in English (Full professional proficiency)
